A holiday for Jade

Jade’s Florida Wish

Jade is a fifteen year old girl who lives in Scotland. She was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Scollisis from birth.
She has been fighting since day one and had 2 heart operations in her first 4 months of life. Since then Jade has undergone a hip reconstruction operation and now needs an operation on her spine.

Jade is supported by her family, Her mum Catherine, Dad Paul as well as her 2 older sisters. Catherine said “that even after all Jade has been through that she never complains.”
Jade has been recognised by the charity as a very brave and strong girl and she truly deserves her wish of visiting Florida and the magic of Disney world with her family.

Great Harbor Vacations are donating the villa for the family from the 23rd to the 30th of September and are fund raising to make this trip possible. The funds raised will pay for Jade, Catherine and Paul’s flights, insurance, Car hire, and £500 towards spending money and food. We do hope to receive Disney theme park tickets.
We plan on donating this holiday every year, as some families struggle to afford holidays whilst caring for their children and also the families do need a break from visiting hospitals.

Great Harbor Vacations has been working in partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, who are a fantastic charity granting the wishes of terminally and seriously ill children. Their Passion to grant these children’s wishes is infectious and it is obvious that they really care.

Fund raising events are taking part at The Green Man, Little Braxted, Essex, throughout the summer. A total in excess of £3000 is needed.

Events Include

Chest Waxing fundraiser. (30th April) The Landlord and 4 regulars. There was 3 chests waxed, 1 Back waxed, and 1pair of Eyebrows (which looked very painful). This was very well attended by around 100 people and very well supported by local businesses. The event included a auction for a signed Rio Ferdinand, England shirt and sales of personalised chocolate bars printed with Jade’s Florida Dream. The total amount raised on the evening was in excess of £1600 with further funds to come from the governments Gift Aid.

Chelmsford Morris Dancing (26th May) A mixture of both male and female dancers performing with traditional bells, hankies and sticks. Commences at 8PM

Staff Dress up day. (28th May) Staff of the Green Man will serve through the day in Disney themed costumes.

FUTURE EVENTS ARE PLANNED FOR THE SUMMER AND JADE AND HER PARENTS HOPE TO ATTEND AN EVENT.
